Steve is a highly experienced 'cellist and teacher and was a member of the University of Utah School of Music adjunct string faculty from 1988 to 2013. He works with beginning, intermediate, and advanced students ages 12 to adult.  Steve's positive approach to teaching builds skills, encourages confidence, and promotes appreciation and reverence for music. He holds a B.A. degree in music from California State University, Long Beach, a Master of Music degree in performance from the Hartt School of Music, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Utah. His former cello teachers include Naoum Benditzky and Raya Garbousova. Steve was a member of the Utah Symphony for 27 years, 23 of which were as Assistant and Associate Principal. He  was a member of the Utah Chamber Orchestra (Ballet West) for 12 years. Steve is an experienced chamber music player and recitalist, and has appeared as soloist with the Utah Symphony and the Long Beach Bach Festival. He also has expertise in helping both students and professionals to deal with performance anxiety.




Linda not only brings her experience as a violin and viola teacher and professional musician to her work with students but has 20 years experience as an elementary school teacher. She is adept at quickly forming a comfortable rapport with students and focuses on beginning through intermediate levels of advancement, children ages 5 to adult. As part of her teaching approach, Linda encourages in her students a lasting enjoyment of music and confidence in themselves as performers. Her work includes ear training and music theory as well as technique building and repertoire development. Linda has a B.A. degree in music from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Education degree from the University of Utah. She studied violin and viola with Leah Seykora. Linda was a member of the viola section of the Utah Chamber Orchestra (Ballet West) for 27 years, and has been active in chamber music and freelance recording work.
